Avis de tempête de Georges Aperghis

Célia Houdart

Publication date 2007 novembre 23.

Avis de tempête is at this time the most achieved work of composer Georges Aperghis. In the same movement, it’s made as a play, a concert, a video installation, an opera and suggests to be a contemporary echo of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Avis de tempête received in 2004 the Criticism Grand Prize (Grand Prix de la critique) as "best music creation".

Célia Houdart and Georges Aperghis undertake to explain the genesis of this work by summoning the luxurious images thrown during the spectacle. The author and his interpreters explain step by step the stages of their creation. A striking and warm personality of contemporary music reveals himself as an extraordinary teacher.

Célia Houdart graduated in literature. She’ a former student of École Normale Supérieure. Author and stage director, she published in 2007 Les merveilles du monde (P.O.L.), her brilliant debut novel.
